Composites Projects
Composite Tooling including Class A automotive tools.
We have extensive experience of tooling for composites production including the development of class A1 tooling for automotive body panels. Our technical partners are the only known producers of such sophisticated tooling.

Aerospace monolithic graphite tools.
The low temperature moulding of carbon fibre tooling is known to have limitations for highly precise applications such as antennas. We have unique experience of producing monolithic graphite tooling. For some applications stable invar tooling is appropriate, we have extensive experience of processing invar.

Special temperature compensated or shaped tooling.
In some circumstances the precision required can be achieve by temperature compensation. Alternatively analytical techniques can be a adopted for beam shaping.
Autoclave and infusion processes.
Product Technik have experience of autoclave processing, liquid resin infusion and film infusion processes
Automotive and volume production.
Product Technik have expertise in the "lean" production of both structure and body panels for production vehicles. We have experience of setting up production using clever control techniques to meet customer requirements.
Aerospace production.
The production of parts for aerospace use requires a conservative approach and attention to traceability. Our Aerospace background ensures that our production partners work to the demanding quality standards required.
Rapid response manufacture.
Motorsport production requires critical attention to delivery performance and seasonal fluctuations in capacity. We have experience of setting up production regimes and controls which meet Motorsport requirements.
Cost down programmes.
The costing down of composites has traditionally focused on improving in mould processing and cure performance. We advocate taking a holistic view of the process and learning to see the 7 wastes in the whole value stream. (See Product Technik brochure "Improving Performance by Reducing the 7 Wastes" or click here)
Offshore sourcing.
Product Technik Web based skills can facilitate prototyping of parts in highly skilled UK facilities and transferring production to low cost facilities in Italy, Russia or South Africa.
Space development and qualification programmes.
We have experience of driving spacecraft components through design, development and full qualification programmes.
Stable structures.
Stable structures are those in which the component mounts critical radio frequency or optical parts in fixed positions which determine their function. Stable structures for micro wave and pseudo optics applications fall within
Smart structures.
Smart structures contain embedded sensors and actuators such as fibre optics and piezoelectric cells. They have uses in applications such as sound damping, load speakers and smart yacht masts. Product Technik partners have expertise in field of Smart Structures.
Materials specification sourcing and test.
The specification and test of composites materials is critical to their performance. Product Technik can arrange for the specification of materials and advocate generic specifications which to ensure security of supply and cost down in the longer term.
Project Management documentation and Support.
The project management of composites projects require a mixture of engineering, production, test and project management skills which Product Technik are able to deploy for our customers and partners. |
